Pank’s 25 Man Roster for the Miami Marlins

Baseball is back! The Marlins full squad is coming together for the first time today as Spring Training is officially underway. The starters in the field are set barring injuries, the back end of the rotation has great competition, and the bullpen is up for grabs. Here is my opening day lineup, bench players, starting rotation, and bullpen to round it all out.

My thoughts on the 2016 Miami Marlins 25 Man Roster:

Starting Lineup

  1. Dee Gordon 2B
  2. Martin Prado 3B
  3. Christian Yelich LF
  4. Giancarlo Stanton RF
  5. Justin Bour 1B
  6. Marcell Ozuna CF
  7. JT Realmuto C
  8. Adeiny Hechavarria SS
  9. Starting Pitcher

Bench

  1. Ichiro Suzuki
  2. Miguel Rojas
  3. Derek Dietrich
  4. Jeff Mathis
  5. Chris Johnson

Starting Rotation

  1. Jose Fernandez
  2. Wei-Yen Chen
  3. Tom Koehler
  4. Jarred Cosart
  5. Edwin Jackson

Bullpen

  1. Mike Dunn
  2. Bryan Morris
  3. David Phelps
  4. Kyle Barraclough
  5. Craig Breslow
  6. AJ Ramos
  7. Carter Capps

Not too many surprises here and many spots are still up for grabs. Brad Hand is running out of options so may give Breslow a run for his money. Gillespie did a great job last year as a fourth outfielder, but it seems like this year he will be the odd man out. Nicolino, Connley, and Urena can gain another year of seasoning at AAA and be the next men up in case of injury. Altogether the Marlins have more options than last year with the added depth and versatility of many players. If this team can in fact stay healthy they will be very dangerous in this years NL East.

This 25 man roster is in no way affiliated with the Marlins and can be changed.
